01 THE PROBLEM
Why it matters
-
Your customers include people with disabilities
More than 1 in 4 US adults have some type of disability. If your site doesn't work with a keyboard or a screen reader, many of them can't buy, book, or contact you.
-
Accessibility complaints are common
Website accessibility lawsuits under the ADA are common, and small businesses are frequent targets. Fixing issues early is cheaper than reacting to a demand letter.
-
It makes the site better for everyone
Accessibility issues usually overlap with SEO and usability problems. Clear structure, readable text, and forms that work help every visitor.
02 CODE, NOT WIDGETS
Why not just install a widget?

-
Headings and structure
Pages have a logical outline that is easy to scan and navigate.
-
Focus and interactive elements
Focus is always visible, and popups never trap users.

Videos have captions, and audio has a text alternative.

The "Place order" button can't be reached with a keyboard
- What's wrong
- The button is a styled
<div>, so the Tab key skips it and screen readers don't announce it as a button. - Who it affects
- Keyboard users, screen reader users, people using switch devices.
- How we fix it
- Replace it with a real
<button>element and add a clearly visible focus style.
-
Serious
Checkout fields have no labels
- What's wrong
- Fields only use placeholder text, which disappears while typing and isn't read reliably.
- Who it affects
- Screen reader users, people with memory or cognitive disabilities.
- How we fix it
- Add visible
<label>elements, autocomplete attributes, and error messages linked to each field.
-
Moderate
Sale prices have low contrast
- What's wrong
- Light gray price text on white has a contrast ratio of 2.8:1 (minimum is 4.5:1).
- Who it affects
- People with low vision, anyone reading on a phone outdoors.
- How we fix it
- Darken the text color to reach at least 4.5:1 without changing the design.

09 FAQ
Questions
Will this make my website ADA compliant?
No one can honestly guarantee a legal outcome. WCAG 2.2 AA is the standard most commonly used to evaluate web accessibility, and we audit and fix against it. For legal questions, consult an attorney.
Do you use an overlay or plugin?
No. We fix the source code.
How long does it take?
Free check: 1-2 business days. Audit: about a week for a typical small business site. Remediation depends on the site.
Which platforms do you work with?
WordPress, WooCommerce, Shopify, Laravel, and most custom sites.
Do I need to give you access to my site?
Not for the check or audit. For fixes, yes - or we can hand the fixes to your developer.
Where are you based?
We are a remote studio based in Europe, available during US business hours.
